Technical Characteristics

PRIMER FOR LIME CYCLES by OIKOS is a pigmented primer for exterior and interior, studied to obtain highly vapour permeable application cycles with lime products. The product, characterized by outstanding pervasion and coverage, consolidates the wall while limiting and making the level of absorbency even over the whole surface. By creating a stable link with the surface, the product leaves the wall highly permeable to water vapour and creates an ideal base for the adhesion of the finishing lime products by OIKOS. PRIMER FOR LIME CYCLES by OIKOS has a low odour level, is non inflammable and is friendly to both humans and the environment.

Interior and Exterior Walls.

Surface Preparation

The surface must be dry and mature, new plasters should have been left maturing at least 30 days to allow a complete carbonation. Clean the surfaces and remove detaching and flaking parts. In case of refurbishment, water leaks and humid areas shall not be present.

Application Method

Apply one coat of PRIMER FOR LIME CYCLES by OIKOS diluted with 40 -60% of drinkable water. The application can be conducted by brush or spray gun (1.7 mm nozzle), be careful to apply uniformly the products. Wait 12 hours before proceeding with the finishing.

Finish

For the finish it is possible to use LIME PAINT ADIGE, VERONA, NATURAL MARMORINO, TRADITIONAL PLASTER, LIME SCREED by OIKOS.

Technical Characteristics: Application

Dilution: 40 ÷ 60% with drinkable water

Yield: 8 ÷ 12 m2/l in one coat, according to surface absorbency

Application tools: Brush, spray gun (1.7 mm nozzle).

Application temperature +5°C ÷ +36°C (when relative humidity not over 80%)

Drying time: tack free 1-2 h (at 20°C and relative humidity 75%)

Drying time: fully cured 10-12 h (at 20°C and relative humidity 75%)

Composition: Resins in water dispersion, fillers, titanium dioxide

Specific weight: 1.45 kg/l +/- 3%

pH: 8,5 ÷ 9

Viscosity: 23.500 ± 5% CPS Brookfield (RVT 20 revs/min.25 °C)

Storage temperature: +2°C ÷ +36°C. Keep from freezing.

Fire reaction: Negative when applied onto not flammable surfaces. It is a waterbased product with dry thickness less than 0.60 mm

Water absorbency (W24): dil. 50% : 0.081 kg/m2.h0,5 DIN 52 617 (max allowed 0,5 kg/m2.h0,5 ,DIN 52617)

Water vapour permeability (Sd): dil. 50% : 0.75 m (max allowed 2 m, DIN 52 615)

Toxicological Data: The product is free of heavy metals such as lead or chrome. It does not contain toxic solvents, aromatics or chlorides. There is no risk of any dangerous polymerisation. The product is considered to be a non dangerous substance if used in the technically correct manner. Normal cautionary measures for the handling of water based paints are advised. No special arrangements are required for the storage, movement and transportation of the product; the containers, residue, eventual spilt material should be cleaned up using absorbent inert material such as sand, soil etc. etc. and then disposed of in accordance with the regional and national regulations in force at that time.
