Technical Characteristics

TRADITIONAL PLASTER by OIKOS is a vapour permeable decorative plaster for interiors and exteriors, formulated with lime putty, ideal for recreating the effect of "antique plasters". The texture, the warm colours and the particular application method are the key factors to an easy and quick re-creation of the irregularities of typical old plasters.

The thickess of TRADITIONAL PLASTER allows you to decorate and hide small imperfections of the wall at once, thus saving on expensive screedings. The product creates a stable link with the surface, preserving the vapour permeability of the whole wall structure. Its alkalinity avoids the development of moulds and bacterial colonies. The lime colours of this product confer a soft tone typical of the plasters of the past to the surfaces. TRADITIONAL PLASTER is odourless, toxic, deflammable, environmentally friendly.

Surface Preparation

The surface must be dry and mature, new plasters should have been left maturing at least 30 days to allow a complete carbonation. Clean the surfaces and remove detaching and flaking parts. In case of refurbishment, water leaks and humid areas shall not be present. On flaking surfaces it is advisable to apply first SEALER FOR LIME CYCLES by OIKOS. On new walls or on well-painted walls it is advisable to apply first PRIMER FOR LIME CYCLES by OIKOS. Apply two coats of INTTONACO ANTICO by OIKOS diluted 5-7% with water, waiting 7-8 hours between coats. Protect the surface from the rain during the first 24-48 hours from the application.

Toxicological Data: The product is free of any harmful substances, pigments or other components containing heavy metals such as lead or chrome. Further to this, the product contains no toxic solvents, aromatics or chlorides. There is no risk of any dangerous polymerisation. The product is non combustible and is held to be a non-toxic substance if used in the technically correct manner. Normal cautionary measures for the handling of water based paints are advised. No special arrangements are required for the storage, movement and transportation of the product, any spillage should be cleaned up using absorbent inert material such as sand, soil etc. and then disposed of as any normal waste product according to national and regional current regulations.
