Technical Characteristics

LIME PAINT VERONA by OIKOS is a mineral water based paint for interiors and exterior, formulated with mature lime putty, for a smooth matt finish. Ideal for the refurbishment of prestigious buildings of historical importance, where the antique decorative style and traditional Italian materials have to be maintained or proposed.

LIME PAINT ADIGE-VERONA creates a stable link with the surface, preserving the vapour permeability of the whole wall structure and enhancing the drying of the whole wall structure. Its alkalinity avoids the development of moulds and bacterial colonies. The fine marble granules of its formulation create beautiful aesthetical effects typical of the decorations of the past.

LIME PAINT ADIGE-VERONA is odourless, not toxic, not flammable, and environmentally friendly.

Surface Preparation

The surface must be dry and mature, new plasters should have been left maturing at least 30 days to allow a complete carbonation. On flaking surfaces it is advisable to apply first SEALER FOR LIME CYCLES by OIKOS. On new walls or on well-painted walls it is advisable to apply first PRIMER FOR LIME CYCLES by OIKOS. Apply LIME PAINT VERONA by OIKOS by brush: the first coat diluted 20-25%; after 4 hours, apply the second coat diluted 25-30% with drinkable water.

Application Method

In case of refurbishment, water leaks and humid areas shall not be present. On flaking surfaces it is advisable to apply first SEALER FOR LIME CYCLES by OIKOS. On new walls or on well-painted walls it is advisable to apply first PRIMER FOR LIME CYCLES by OIKOS. The application can be conducted by brush: the first coat diluted 20-25%; after 4 hours, apply the second coat diluted 25-30% with drinkable water.. Protect the surface from the rain during the first 24-48 hours from the application.

Finishing

Washed effects can be obtained with WASHED LIME EFFECT by OIKOS.

Application tools: Brush Primers: SEALER FOR LIME CYCLES by OIKOS. PRIMER FOR LIME CYCLES by OIKOS.

Application temperature: 5°C ÷ +36°C (when relative humidity not over 80%)

Drying time: tack free 1.30 h (at 20°C and relative humidity 75%)

Drying time: fully cured 24 h (at 20°C and relative humidity 75%)

Tools cleaning:Water

Important: Protect the surface from the rain during the first 24-48 hours from the application.

Composition: Lime putty, fillers, titanium dioxide, inorganic pigments based on iron oxides and coloured earth.

Specific weight: 1.5 kg/l +/- 3% (white) Texture: max = 0.3 mm pH: 12.5-13.5

Storage temperature: +2°C ÷ +36°C. Keep from freezing

Fire reaction: Negative when applied onto not flammable surfaces. It is a waterbased product with dry thickness less than 0.60 mm

Water vapour permeability (Sd): 0.043 m (max allowed 2 m, DIN 52 615)

Toxicological Data: The product is free of any harmful substances, pigments or other components containing heavy metals such as lead or chrome. Further to this, the product contains no toxic solvents, aromatics or chlorides. There is no risk of any dangerous polymerisation. The product is non combustible and is held to be a non-toxic substance if used in the technically correct manner. Read carefully the safety data sheet: the product is labeled Xi irritant, R41. No special arrangements are required for the storage, movement and transportation of the product, any spillage should be cleaned up using absorbent inert material such as sand, soil etc. etc. and then disposed of as any normal waste product according to national and regional current regulations.
